Job Definition and General Description: 

As an employee of the Company, you will be responsible for representing yourself, the Company, and our clients, on and off the job site. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and quick learner, possesses strong attention to detail, and works well in a team or independent situation. They must have excellent organizational skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to build relationships with business partners. They must ensure all work carried out is in accordance with agreed programs including, but not limited to, implementation of MOD’s, installation of signage, and proper movement of client assets. This is the entry level and starting point to building a bright, successful career with the Company. 

Customer Relations:
Customers are the fuel that feeds remodels. Make the customers feel important by understanding their frustration with the store being in disarray and doing everything in your power to help them find what they are looking for. Since you are the one who is executing the MOD’s/planograms, you must be able to direct the customer to the new location or direct them to a store employee for more help. Most importantly, when dealing with customers, remain 100% professional and courteous at all times. 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: 

Employee must have the ability to communicate effectively internally with the Site/Shift Manager, including the Team Lead, and externally with Customers. General Merchandiser will report to their assigned Shift Manager or Site Manager. In some cases, they will receive their job assignments from a qualified Team Lead that is assigned to the shift they are working on. There are multiple shifts which you may be asked to work on throughout for training purposes. Any questions and/or concerns of any nature must be reported and handled by the employee’s direct supervisor and not involve the client on the employee’s behalf. This will be reported to the client by each Site Manager assigned to that location. Always follow the chain of command in all cases!

Requirements: 

• High School Diploma/GED preferred 
• At least 1 year of customer service experience preferred. Prior sales agent, retail and reset responsibility experience preferred. 
• Must be able to lift and carry individual cases of product, shelving, or displays of up to 60 pounds. 
• Must be willing and able to work in cold environmental conditions (i.e., refrigerated and freezer sections of retail stores) for limited periods of time. 
• Must be able to operate or learn how to operate a computer, calculator, fax machine, telephone, paper cutter, copier, hammer, screwdriver, drill, case cutter, hand truck, and pallet jack. 
• Must be able to climb and stand on a step stool or ladder. 
• Must be able to read and communicate effectively with others. 
• Stand on your feet for an extended period of time, bending and lifting 
• Must perform the job safely and utilize proper safety techniques and use of equipment when appropriate. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

All tasks must be done in a clean and timely manner to ensure job completion. 

• Arrival to job 5 minutes before assigned shift 
• Dress code followed 100% 
• Have the right attitude for each day 
• Have basic tools to perform all tasks 
• Keep assigned work areas clean at all times 
• Read and follow a plan-o-gram to effectively complete set/project work. Have a working knowledge of merchandising and retail terminology 
• Perform duties such as moving and cleaning shelves, installing new racks and shelves, displaying merchandise properly, placing shelf strips and attaching tags properly, checking date codes and MOD integrity, and processing pack outs, restocks and reorders as necessary 
• Assist in gathering and moving materials, supplies, fixtures, and equipment necessary for the assigned set/project work 
• Partner with store personnel and co-workers to achieve and maintain merchandising excellence, discuss changes, and build an effective working relationship 
• Report and discuss observations and issues with Site Manager/Shift Manager and/or Team Lead 
• Effectively and accurately prepare, process, submit, and manage documentation related to assigned set/project work 
• Perform job safely by demonstrating full awareness of his/her surroundings. Utilize proper safety techniques and equipment use when necessary. Be proactive in alerting management to any unsafe act or condition to prevent injuries 
• Must be able to lift and carry individual cases of product, shelving, or displays of up to 60 pounds 
• Must demonstrate good judgment and show respect for others 
• Understand and follow all company policies and standard operating procedures 
• Perform other duties as assigned and/or deemed necessary
